Insurance for Defective Construction

August 13, 2015 – The Fourth Edition of Pat Wielinski’s book, Insurance for Defective Construction has been published by International Risk Management Institute of Dallas. The book is geared toward the construction and insurance industries and analyzes coverage and risk management principals primarily under commercial general liability and builders risk insurance, touching on the relationship of those risk management devices with surety and professional liability policies. The book was originally published in 2000, and the current edition updates the discussion primarily as to the applicability of the contractual liability exclusion to breach of contract claims as generated by the Gilbert v. Underwriters at Lloyds and Ewing Construction v. Amerisure cases. It also updates issues relating to occurrence, allocation and other developments.
